Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will feature 50 bedrooms, 78 private residences, a spa, 25-metre indoor pool, sauna, vitality pool, relaxation room and the first Akira Back namesake restaurant in the UK from award-winning chef Akira Back with a Michelin star. , as well as its “ABar Lounge” concept.
Susanne Hatje, who has joined the new property as General Manager, said: “We are extremely delighted to open a Mandarin Oriental hotel in the heart of such an iconic location. Mayfair has such a rich history and pedigree in luxury, fashion and art and is constantly evolving. It’s a wonderful parallel for our new property, which will introduce the delightful touches the Mandarin Oriental is loved for, but in a more intimate and informal setting. We believe that our warm, club-like atmosphere, which pervades the entire hotel, should make Mandarin Oriental Mayfair a new destination of choice in the area.
The property was designed by Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners with interior design for the hotel’s public areas created by Tokyo-based studio Curiosity, and the 50 rooms and suites designed by UK-based Studio Indigo.
Works by local British artists will be featured throughout the hotel with unique pieces of furniture curated by Curiosity founder Gwenael Nicolas.
